But these demands aren’t static. Thanks to digital and social media, the way information is consumed today is virtually unrecognisable to a decade ago. As these pressures changed, we recognised it was time Mediaportal evolved alongside it – which is why we asked for our clients help.
For the past 12 months we conducted extensive research asking clients what they wanted. The overwhelming response was for a purpose-built platform, shaped to meet their needs. And we listened. The new Mediaportal has been truly built for clients, by clients.
So what have we changed?
Mediaportal is now more intuitive than ever. We understand clients don’t have time to scroll through menus to find specific functions. As of today, the tools clients use most can be accessed from a hand side-menu bar, allowing for single click response. A search bar now sits on top of the page, providing a quick search option for when information is needed fast.
We also improved the user experience for mobile. In today’s media cycle, the news doesn’t stop for a daily commute, coffee meeting or lunchtime gym class. It is indifferent to weekends, vacations or public holidays. But clients no longer need to be tethered to their desks, waiting for coverage to appear. Instead, when a story breaks, clients can access information in real-time with full functionality from their mobile device, wherever, whenever they need it.
But by far, the most important change to Mediaportal is it can be tailored to suit our client’s specific needs; after all, no one knows what information is most valuable to an organisation and their stakeholders better than the clients themselves. To that end, clients can opt to receive multiple email notifications on the stories that matter at any time of the day.
Further, information can be sorted in a way that makes sense and can be categorised by media type, location and more. It means clients can customise their Mediaportal to truly reflect their world.
However this isn’t the end of the journey, rather the beginning. While we’re proud of what Isentia’s achieved, we see this as the latest iteration of Mediaportal, not the last. A relentless media cycle needs innovation to match and our commitment to improving clients business isn’t over.
